Dr. Hildebrand Shayo is an economist and development planner with over 31 years of experience in academia, public service, and financial institutions. He holds a PhD in Resource Planning from London South Bank University, a Master’s in Development Studies, and a BA in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam.

He currently serves as the Manager of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation at TIB Development Bank. Dr. Shayo has previously served as a Senior Lecturer at the Open University of Tanzania, CEO of NICOL, and Investment & Asset Manager at the Tanzania National Investment Company. His early career included roles at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prevention of Corruption Bureau, and various academic institutions.

He has served on the boards of key national institutions such as TPA, STAMICO, TBC, TRC, and NICOL. Dr. Shayo is a permanent member of the SADC PPDF Advisory and Oversight Committee and a certified transaction advisor by CMSA. With over 450 published works on investment, trade, and entrepreneurship, he is also trained in value chain financing (JICA, Japan) and investment data analysis (Moody’s).
