AKM Glitters Company Limited was established on 7th March 2007 by three Tanzanian share holders dealing with Intergrated poultry business and invested on Animal Feed Plant, Kuroiler Parent Stock Farm and provision of rural based extension and veterinary services.

Due to lack of farm input, supplies, quality feeds, and extension services to small holders farmers AKM Glitters designed a model to trade with 70% women and 30% family units to promote high quality poultry farming standards through a franchise model to address the following:
Easy access to farm in puts like chicks, feed, veterinary and extension services
Contribute to improved nutrition status of small holder farmers - SDG 2
Engage women through women owned franchises. - SDG 5 & SDG 10
Employment creation - SDG 8
Contribute to economic development - SDG 1

To date, AKM Glitters has established 480 small sized franchises and reached more that 1,200,000 small holder farmers in Tanzania working in 25 regions of Tanzania mainland and plans to expand to Zanzibar.
